The Infamous Masterson’s , located in the heart of Moonee Ponds , advertises itself as a stylish, alternative venue , but my unfortunate encounter at this establishment became a nightmarish ordeal . While the bar may appear inviting from the outside , what I encountered behind its entrance was shocking and unacceptable on multiple levels .
Cleanliness Issues : Grimy and Neglected Beyond Belief
From the moment I walked in , it was apparent that upkeep was not a priority at this bar . The floors were sticky , and a nauseating aroma of decaying beverages and filthy restrooms polluted the entire pub. With a smell of a mixture of ammonia , decay and sour vomit . The main bar, which should be the main attraction of any pub, was littered with unwashed glassware and refuse that looked like it hadn’t been touched in ages . The restroom was in even worse condition —overflowing , with a snapped lever and tiles smeared in what I can only assume was fecal matter .
